01Before you start
Husly does not sell domains. Buy the domain from a domain seller (a registrar) such as Zone, Veebimajutus or Namecheap, and keep the login to its DNS settings at hand. You add two or three records there.
Your own domain is part of the Standard plan and every plan above it. On the Free plan the site stays on its husly.app address.
Your husly.app address keeps working while you set up the domain. Nothing goes offline during the change.
02Add the domain
In the admin, open Settings -> Domains.
Type your domain in the domain field, for example
yourcompany.com.If you want, press Check nameservers. Husly then tells you whose DNS your domain uses (Zone, Veebimajutus, Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare or Google), so you know where to log in.
Press Add domain. The domain appears in the list as Awaiting verification.
03Add the DNS records
Under the domain, open the DNS setup guide. It shows the exact values for your domain, each with a Copy button. Copy them from there, not from this page: the values below are the pattern.
| Record | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| A | @ | The IP address shown in the guide (step 1, Point the domain to your site) |
| CNAME | www | husly.app |
| TXT | _husly-verify | husly-verify= and your own code (step 2, Prove ownership) |
Many DNS panels add your domain to the name by themselves. Then type only _husly-verify in the name field, not the whole _husly-verify.yourcompany.com. Otherwise the record ends up at a name that does not exist.
The TXT record may stay in place after the domain is verified. Changes in DNS take from a few minutes to a couple of hours to spread. Check DNS shows what the internet sees right now and changes nothing.
04Verify the domain and get HTTPS
When the records are in place, press Verify.
Husly looks for your TXT record. When it finds it, the domain changes to Verified.
If you see DNS record not found yet, wait a while and press Verify again.
HTTPS is automatic. After the domain is verified, Husly asks for a security certificate for it, and you do not need to buy or upload one.
05Make it the main address
A verified domain can become the site's main address with Make primary. After that, a visitor who opens a page on the husly.app address is sent to the same page on your domain, and search engines see your domain as the real one.
Only a verified domain can be made primary.
Remove is offered only for a domain that is not the main one.
06Email on your domain
Husly does not host mailboxes, but it helps you set them up at Google Workspace or Zoho Mail. You pay the mail provider directly. Open Tools -> Email, or press Set up email on the domain screen.
The setup shows every record the provider needs and checks them for you:
MX: where your mail is delivered. It is required.
SPF (a TXT record): who may send mail in your name. Recommended.
DMARC (a TXT record at
_dmarc): what to do with fake mail in your name. Recommended. The provider's own verification record (TXT).
Mail records do not touch the A, CNAME and TXT records of your site. Add the mail records next to them, and do not delete the ones above.
