01Make a form
In the admin, open Forms and press Add form. The first time, the button says Start a new form.
Pick a template and press Use this template, or start empty with Blank form.
Fill in the Form name and the Title shown on form.
Open the Fields tab, press Add field and choose a type under Pick a field type.
Press Save.
There are 16 field types. A form can also use conditional logic, so a question can depend on an earlier answer.
A form can take one of four shapes: a classic form, one question at a time, a letter or a sentence.
Want to see what forms can do first? Look at Forms.
02Put the form on a page
Open the page in the builder and add the Form block.
Under Saved form, pick your form.
Check that the form is Active. You find this on the form's Settings tab.
Visitors do not see a form that is not active. If your form does not show on the page, check this first.
How to add a block and publish the page: Pages and menus.
In Forms, the list Forms on your pages shows the forms that sit on your pages. Responses shows what came in, and Open the page takes you to the page.
03Read the answers and reply
All answers land in Forms -> Submissions.
Type in Search the answers to find an answer fast.
All forms shows the answers of every form together. Pick one form to see only its answers.
Press Reply to answer the person who filled in the form.
Download (CSV) saves the answers that match your current filter. The file opens in Excel.
The Free plan has a monthly limit for answers. Answers over the limit are kept, but locked. To open them, upgrade your plan with Unlock by upgrading. The plans are on the pricing page.
04Get an email for each answer
Husly emails you about each new answer. This is on by default. The email goes to the first address Husly finds, in this order:
| Order | Address | Where it is set |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The form's own address | The form's Email tab -> Notify the owner |
| 2 | The site's default address | Settings -> Notifications -> Recipient email |
| 3 | The account owner's email | The email you signed up with |
Email to the submitter sends a letter to the person who filled in the form. It works only when the form has an email field.
05Sending and opening times
On the form's Settings tab, the Submission card decides what happens when someone sends the form:
Button label: the text on the send button.
Success message: the thank-you text the visitor sees after sending.
After sending, go to the page: send the visitor to a page you choose instead. Leave it empty, and the visitor sees the success message.
Also on the Settings tab, When the form takes answers is for a form that is open only for a while, for example a sign-up:
Opens and Closes: when the form starts and stops taking answers.
Answers up to: the form closes when this many answers have come in.
Message when the form is closed: what visitors see when the form no longer takes answers.
06Spam protection
Husly checks every answer in the background. Your visitors do not solve a picture puzzle, and you do not set anything up. These are the checks:
Sent too fast: a person cannot fill in the form that quickly.
A hidden trap field: people do not see it, but robots fill it in.
Cloudflare Turnstile, which Husly runs for you.
An answer that fails a check is not refused. It goes to Forms -> Spam. If a real answer ends up there, press Not spam and it moves back to your answers.
You get no notice about spam. Look in the Spam folder now and then: it empties after 30 days.
07Send answers to other services
Husly can send each answer on to 31 other services. Connect your account once, then choose for each form where its answers go.
Open Tools -> Integrations and connect your account at the service you want to send answers to.
Open the form and its Integrations tab. The services are listed under In use and Available.
Turn on the switch Send this form's answers to ... (it ends with the service's name).
See the sends opens the delivery log, so you can see what went out.
Most of the 31 services work in every plan, Free too. Webhooks, Make and Zapier need the Standard plan or higher.
